| - My husband had a conference at the Westgate resort and casino last week, so we stayed here for 4 nights.
To start off, the resort is easy to find from the freeway, but good luck trying to figure out where to park to check in. I never did find where you could park to check in after a few days of being there. When we drove up to the main entrance, it was like an airport. A lane for taxis, a lane for valet parking, and a lane for self parking ..... which takes you way far away from the main entrance. Where are your registration parking spots?? Seriously, it was so confusing. We had to take another lap around and pull into the valet spot to ask where we could park to register. The employee moved cones so we could go park by the red curb and gave vague directions about where to go to check in. It seriously took me asking random people multiple times to finally find it. So, it's in the main entrance (the huge revolving door entrance leading into the casino). Don't enter the casino, take an immediate left. Pass the concierge desk and you'll see where to line up for front desk (although it wasn't labeled registration or anything). For a huge, popular resort, we were blown away by how bad the user experience was for the checking in process.
****This resort is the epitome of Las Vegas with nasty pictures/videos of women playing everywhere you look on the bottom floor. Circus circus didn't have any bad pictures in their casino. It was shocking and disturbing. You except that kind of thing on the strip, but this resort is not on the strip. Just a warning.
Parking was confusing. I had to ask the front desk guy where to park, he hadn't offered any guidance when he gave me my room keys. We found the north tower easy enough. There's a north, center, and east towers. Just a heads up, parking is a walk to get inside so try to pack light. The elevator inside the north tower was clear down the hall past Pizza Hut, a tattoo place with awful pictures of women, and an Elvis Presley wedding chapel. We found out later you can use the scenic elevator (right inside the doors) with your room key and can avoid the downstairs hallway/bad images.
We found our room just fine and it was pretty nice even for the most basic room called the "Premium Room". We enjoyed it. But we were expecting a microwave and there wasn't one. Instead, they had a safe. There was a mini fridge. My favorite thing they offered is if you decline housekeeping, you use your room phone to call the "Go green" service, leave your name and room number in a message, and the next morning they will slide a $10 gift card to any food/restaurant place in the Westgate resort. You can do this every day of your stay except for the day you arrive and leave. We used ours at Pizza Hut and the frozen yogurt/cafe downstairs. The only drawback was one day, we didn't get our coupon. I called in the evening and the lady on the phone was very rude and didn't care that I didn't get mine. She said I wasn't on the list, even though I told her I had called the day before. I asked if there was anything she could do and she said, "No the tickets have already been passed out today." That was frustrating and disappointing but I was like oh well whatever I'm not going to get angry over $10.
The pool is confusing to find. I had to ask other guests where it was when I was in the elevator. You have to take the center tower elevator to the 3rd floor, and then go outside to the pool. The water was freezing, which was weird because it was 80+ in the day. They have pool chairs and couches you can sit on or cabanas with couches and a tv you can rent.
Well, that's all I have to say. My husband said the conference area was nice and no bad pictures over there, so that's cool.
