  • We'd gone a couple years ago before the renovation and it was one of the best meals ever. We live pretty close so I'm not sure how this didn't turn into a go to after that... However, we went last week with friends. I know the waits get long here but it was early evening and we thought we'd be safe. From line to food, it was probably 35-40 minutes. Kudos to these guys for having a devoted following! However there isn't enough room to accommodate the folks waiting; it's cramped and in front of the door which blocks thru traffic. I loved that they offer Mexican coke- something I treat myself to every time I see it! Meal wise: we were all obsessed with the toast. Man, is that good! Between the four of us we got a huge chunk of the menu- the sides are definitely a strength here! The potatoes, bread, grits-- all really good. My steak was unfortunately stringy and the small platter it was all served on was pretty small for the amount of food on there. The service was thoughtful and kind. Tbh, this probably would've been a four if some of the details (waits and serveware) were a little more thought out. I would definitely go back but in a more obscure hour, for sure.
