| - For a company that manages a ton of buildings, they do a great job. I lived in Squirrel Hill in one of their properties and when we showed up, the place was actually really clean. The lease signing process is quick and painless, and the staff is very responsive. I was a grad student at the time, so I wasn't looking for much...just something cheap and convenient. Walnut Capital met my expectations.
I would recommend this company for students...maybe some young professionals, but if you've got some money, you can find a nicer place. If you aren't a student, I would probably give this place a lower rating...maybe 3 stars.
Pros:
-Cheap, I had 1 roommate and we paid 965 for a spacious 2 bedroom, central air/heat, dishwasher. This is cheap for Pittsburgh.
-Maintenance is super-responsive
-Walnut capital shuttle picks you up at your door and takes you to campus
-Safe
Cons:
-Old building
-Coin laundry (dryer didn't work...another company has to come and fix it)
-Careful with mail at Hobart...not sure where it happened along the mailing process, but some of my envelopes that appeared like they had valuable things inside were sliced open
