| - We just purchased our first home through Gavish Real Estate this month. We had an okay experience, but quite a lot left to be desired.
We initially worked with Tom Fisher, who did an okay job but is clearly lacking the experience. We did a lot of work looking for houses on our own with a giant group of listings we were sent. There was a lot of misinformation and problems with getting the correct numbers listed on any and all paperwork, so make sure to read everything you sign very carefully and make sure the math adds up. After all, we're all human and make mistakes.
But my mother and I had a lot of questions as first time homebuyers, which caused conflicts with Tom, who was not prepared to put in the time needed. I even received a series of forwarded emails between Tom, us, and the lender that even called out a warning that we were difficult first time buyers with lots of questions. Somewhat unprofessional if you ask me.
We then dealt with supervisor Mike Gorelick, who was very professional, clearly experienced, and answered any and all questions with confidence. As with homebuying, we encountered a few delays and missed promises, but Mike kept on top of things.
My only regret is not demanding the receipts to prove that seller repairs were made in accordance with our FHA appraisal contingencies. We are now in the house and discovering the appropriate and professional repairs were not made and now have a lot of uncertainty about whether is was reinspected with a professional and caring eye, or whether they just wanted us out of their hair since we were "difficult".
