| - Me and My roommates have lived her for a year and from the beginning the staff was absolutely horrendous. The reason we moved into the apartments was because the only friendly face that was able to help us was Andru, he was amazing, he calmed our worries and made us feel like maybe this was a place we can settle in to for a year. However as much as I appreciate Andru, who is no longer working there, I completely regret moving in.
The staff is incompetent and rude. They never know what they're talking about and to cover up their lack of knowledge they say things such as "well that's what the corporate office wants us to do I don't know". Me and my roommates are all young professionals in our early 20s and they've treated us as if they can take full advantage of our age, and lack of experience with housing.
To start, when we first signed our lease and turned in our renters insurance, with State Farm, they tried to give us a 50$ fee for not having the renters insurance and said it'd increase with every month we don't have it. However we did have the insurance and brought in sufficient proof, and yet they were still trying to charge us. They told us that our State Farm had contacted them saying we did not pay the full balance and when we talked to state farm they were appalled and said they have never contacted them and that now they would to ensure we were not taken advantage of. After a long struggle they finally lifted the fee.
Next, we had a few noise complaints because my roommate likes to listen to music a little loudly while getting ready at 11am which is when people should be willing to come to our door and ask us to turn it down. But alas it did not happen that way until a police officer one night came and tried to fine us. And that is when we discovered there were previous noise complaints had that not happened we would have never known about those complaints. We asked why security had not come first to ask us to keep the noise level down and why were were never told about these complaints. There were empty apologies and that was that.
And then, my car which was parked in the back lot (because it would cost about $75 for a covered parking which is absurd) had TWO tires stolen from it. The thief had the time to put two cinder blocks under my car and take off two tires and take them out of the complex without one person OR SECURITY seeing this?! I filed a police report and when I went in Cathie basically told me that they have no control over that and well you're SOL. I told her not only did I now not feel safe to walk through there at night which I worked nights on the weekend but they should do more about that because it was a federal crime considering the expense of the tires. But again we were left there with nothing to be done.
There are a few more incidents that happened from then and now but the worst is what they are trying to do with our lease.
With Andru we signed a 1 year lease and he prorated our first month (October), so we only had to pay for the days of the month we were going to live there, and when our contract was up it was supposed to be the same thing only paying for the days of october in which we lived there. We got ONE notice July 18th that our lease was up, of course we didn't send it in right away we were all very busy with work and life in general. But we hand wrote it because on the notice it stated "written and signed" of course we thought this meant hand written (silly us), since we all do have very complex and different work schedules Ashley the primary lease holder wrote it up and had us all sign. It was coming down to the 60 days so ashley knew she had to get in ASAP but her work schedule was not comparable to their 10-5/6 (again ridiculous) office hours, so she decided after work to put it in their Dropbox because every office I've every dealt with has had a drop box. But when she arrived there was not, she tried to leave it noticeably near the door sticking up from the mat but it was supposedly never received. Now it's October and they are trying to keep us paying for not only all of October rent but November as well. Even though on October 2nd at 5:45 right before their office was closed we got a very cryptic voicemail from the very rude Todd saying that if we were not out by tomorrow we would be paying 1500 and $80+ in late fees if we tried to stay until the 11th. When we tried to call back OF COURSE no answer. the office was now closed. Scared and confused we rushed and cleared out all of our stuff, how can someone be faced with such an ultimatum? And now we are being told "HAHA" you still have to pay that 1500 and plus november which in total will be around 2100.
The staff and their lack of communication is absurd, the way the treat their residence is completely ridiculous, the fact that they are not willing to try and solve this in a good manner and are always saying "oh well" or basically that in any situation ever well thats the contract you're SOL
