It's a cute little place - it looks like a French cafe with fresh bread and pastries everywhere. It was a beautiful day and the windows were open to the street. Unfortunately, that's where the good stuff ends. I had a caramel filled doughnut and it was just not good. Plain doughnut? Check. Icing? Check. Caramel sprinkles on top? Check. Caramel filled? Check. And yet, despite all of these things, I found it to be completely flavourless. How that's even possible, I have no idea. The price was fair, at $2.25 with tax, but I can't help but feel like it was wasted calories. They certainly don't compare to the other fabulous doughnut places in the city. As for the other treats, the single doughnut was all I got, so I can't comment on those.
And you would think the staff would be a little more friendly and upbeat for only just opening. I don't even think the woman at the cash made eye contact with me and she had a scowl on her face while just looking around.
So, I *may* be back to try some other pastries, but not in a hurry.
