  • When I first moved to the city, without a family doctor, dentist, or the financial means to access a lot of health services, Planned Parenthood saved my ass! I get my birth control pills here for $5 a month, and a lot of the time, they give me samples for free! This sure beats paying $20-$30 dollars a month at a drug store! Despite that this place is obviously over-worked and under-staffed, I have always received friendly service, and felt very comfortable here. Nobody LIKES going to the doctor, but they really do make it as painless as possible. They are always very thorough, and make a point of making sure that I make follow up appointments, are up to date on my vaccinations, and offer great advice in terms of finding affordable dental and eye-care options! I have yet to subject myself to their walk-in clinic, but I expect that it is probably ALWAYS quite busy. Even to make a scheduled appointment, you usually need to book a few weeks in advance.
