| - Ooo. Liars burn.me.up.
Tried to submit a short presentation online - it didn't work. Called in, homeboy hems and haws about being able to get it done tonight (it was 5pm and this is a 24 hour location...right.), I push back because it is literally 5 copies of a 20 page deck that just needs some coil binding. I'm pretty sure PRINTING CENTERS are set up to handle an order like that in 5 MILLISECONDS. He agrees, I email it in, get nervous, call at 6pm to make sure they can get it done tonight and he says it's currently being printed, but come at 10pm to be safe.
I call at 9pm because surely 10 was a safety precaution and they're already done, right? Homeboy doesn't even know who I am or remember my email. Worse, HE CANT FIND MY ORDER. After a few awkward bumbling minutes he says "Okay we got it, you can come by." Well great!
I arrive, state my name for pickup, and live-homeboy rushes around a little bit. Still no sign of a box - where are my beautiful presentations? After 10 minutes, he tells me that they WERE printed but the ink quality wasn't great. To which I say, let me see them, i may not care and it would save you from redoing them. He changes the subject. Then he says he can't even find my presentation. Then he finds it but says PowerPoint won't open. I ask about the "low ink" copies again. He says he only printed one copy and tossed it. Okay, then why didn't you just redo them at that time when you "started at 6"? Oh, all of a sudden PowerPoint opens. Instructions, he says? Refer to the email I sent you at 5pm, I say.
And the whole order was done in 5 minutes.
I ask for a discount at checkout. For what? He says with a look of defensiveness and confusion. For the inconvenience, I say, laying out everything I did here. Well, he says, you got the decks didn't you? Yes, but I had to babysit you the whole way and I guarantee if I didn't I would be presenting nothing at my meeting tomorrow morning. He resisted, mumbled something about manager approval, and I said don't bother - this is my last time here.
The 1 star is not because they clearly just forgot about my print job. It's for patronizing me by lying about it and then being frickin defensive about it. Be a better liar, or just say you're sorry. I mean come on.
On a slightly sunnier note, if you have a bigger brain than what I can only hope is the B team from tonight, the self-printing option is great when you're in a pinch.
