| - I know that Firewater really means and strong spirit, like whiskey or rum, but for some reason, when I hear Firewater, I think, "Will it hurt coming out?" I can't be the only one that thinks this. Therefore, I do not think it is a good name for a restaurant. Minus 1 for Firewater.
This location has always been kind of tricky. Who remembers how many restaurants have been through this space? No, I don't either. You know why? Because nobody went there (aside from a rather drunken evening where I ended up at Senor Frogs, but I prefer to block that memory out). However, it seems as though Firewater is making a reasonably good attempt at staying open. Plus 2 for Firewater.
I'm not sure what kind of food I expected from a place by the name of Firewater, but it certainly wasn't pub food. Having said that, is there anything more delicious than French fries with seasoning salt? No, there isn't. Nachos were pretty good too. Another point for Firewater.
I hate to mention this, because it makes me sound old, but I felt like I had to leave the place faster than I wanted to because the music was so loud. As in, so loud I got a headache and didn't feel like drinking anymore. Do you know how often that has happened to me? Once in my entire life. All points revoked from Firewater as this possibly qualifies as a crime against humanity.
I ordered a glass of white wine and had it served in a champagne flute. I don't know if they ran out of glasses or the bartender was confused, but either way, I found it adorablly quaint and charming. Plus 3 points for Firewater.
...but don't let the shitty music happen again, k?
