I had high hopes for this place when it opened. I was so impressed with their availability and ability to get me in after I e-mailed them. I was so impressed that I bought one of their pre-paid Lifestyle memberships. To be fair, I've had variable experiences with the massages themselves; many have been excellent, some have been too rough or not focused on what my stated concern was (or they wasted time "diagnosing me" and telling me their recommendations for all sorts of things---agree with reviewer Chloe). One guy gave me the creeps and it's the only time I've specifically asked NOT to have someone again (usually you don't get to choose.)
Within the last year, they seem to have tightened up their massage therapist availability to the point where this is no longer worth it. I was told within the same visit that "it's harder if you don't book ahead", and (when asking for a particularly good massage therapist again, to schedule ahead for a month in the future) "they don't put their schedules out that far ahead." ?????
I've had some recently cancel on me the same day---okay, illness and emergencies happen. Another time when the scheduler goofed up the schedule then kept offering me new times but giving them away in the 1 hour it took to get back to her. But there is little/no availability for rescheduling with anyone other than inconvenient times now. I work a lot of hours and have limited availability. That's what I used to like, that they could almost always work something out that I could do. Now, Hand & Stone Massage seems to have few massage therapists and mostly to be pushing their facials, which is not what I want. Too bad; coulda been good.
