| - Have you ever been inside the cold produce section at Costco? That is basically what Minus 5 is - except Minus 5 is more expensive than a yearly Costco membership. $19 gets you inside but drinks are about $10 each. You do get a cool cup made of ice though. For another $16 you get a fun faux hat to keep and faux jacket to wear (instead of our boring black ones). Finally, for an additional $20 you get a framed photo.
This is key. You cannot bring your phone inside, so no pictures inside unless you buy theirs (a clever business scheme, because who goes to an ice bar and leaves with out a picture). They do take nice photos, we ended up buying 5 pictures for an additional $50 (one was included with one of our $75 Total VIP Experience package, the rest of us got the $39 two cocktail experience). I primarily wanted the pictures so I could put them online, I didn't really care about the printed copy. They put a big watermark at the bottom of the photo which was less than ideal, but what really got me was the low quality of the photos. I thought they weren't downloading right on my phone, so I waited until I got home to check them out. Turns out, they were full quality on my phone and I could discern every pixel. They were 72 dpi 600 x 397 photos. That is worse than a craigslist post for a used lawnmower or myspace profile picture circa 2006. I've attached a photo, and you can see that you really can't zoom in on the tiny image at all. That makes me want to cry.
tl;dr: Kind of fun, mostly just a waste of your time and money. If you do go, don't buy the pictures because they are low quality.
