| - My 3-year old son had a ball here....and then he had a bawl here, as it was time for us to go :( lol If you have small children, or kids age 12 and under, they will probably love it here. Older kids will think it's baby-ish. As an adult, I had a blast watching my son's eyes light up as he took it all in. We played in all of the sections.
There are two rides here: Kingdom Quest and Merlin's Apprentice. Kingdom Quest was a fun little ride where basically you shoot at spiders and on-screen lego skeletons, nothing too scary for the little ones. Merlin's Apprentice is flying roundabout ride, smooth and gentle for the little ones as well, but they must be over 3ft to ride. The Duplo Farm area for 2 -5 year olds is cute, but unsupervised, so you'll need to keep an eye on your little one so they don't get trampled on by the occasional older kid who wanders over. Miniland is a display room full of breathtaking lego replicas of famous area landmarks in the Valley, some of which are interactive. The Play Zone is a soft play jungle gym area, with areas to climb, slide and build with giant soft legos. MUST WEAR SOCKS! The area is unsupervised, and kids must be 3 ft and taller to play. No adults are allowed inside, but you can watch from outside the area. If you're worried about your kid being able to handle him/herself around older, bigger kids who are running around, you might not want them to play in there, but they should be fine.
The Lego 4D cinema shows 15 minute movies, complete with 3D glasses, fog, water and special effects. Mild and fun for the little ones. Lego Friends is kind of a girly area, with hot pink legos, lego dollhouses, ponies, etc. but there were quite a few boys in there and who cares...legos are legos! My son's favorite area was the Build and Test area, where you build a lego car and then test it on a hilly track or race against other kids in the play area. Build and Test seemed to be one of the most popular areas in Legoland.
Areas we didn't go to: A small coffee shop with hot food, snacks and dining area (looked clean and smelled yummy!), Creative Workshop (not sure what that was), a Master Builders area (I guess you can watch a master builder make realistic lego replicas?) and a glass-enclosed Parents Area, with soft seating and a privacy area for breastfeeding. There is free WiFi and hand sanitizer stations throughout all of Legoland.
$22 per person is super pricey, so this may be that place you promise to take the kids when they've been EXTRA good ;)
