  • This review is WAY overdue given that I stayed here 10 months ago, but nonetheless I have to say that I didn't really enjoy this hotel and here's why: Our first impression of the hotel was nightmarish. We had booked 2 rooms for ourselves and my parents about 4 months in advance. Prior to arriving, I had contacted the hotel with a request for one of the rooms which went off without a hitch (the conversation). Upon arriving to the hotel at about 10pm a couple nights before new years eve, I was told at the reception that I had NO RESERVATION and that both my rooms had been cancelled a few nights before (by a magical creature probably because I'm the only one who had access to the reservation and made no such request before arrival). I was then told that the hotel was fully booked and that we had to leave and find somewhere else to stay (!!!!!). Anyway, after a bit of back and forth, and escalation to the manager, I was then told that the person who told me my reservation was cancelled was new and didn't understand how to read the information on the screen and that in fact, my rooms were ready (?????). They also realized that instead of using my full first and last name on the reservation, they used half of my first and half of my last name combined which is why they couldn't see the active booking (what????). Needless to say, our stay started off VERY stressfully as you can imagine and we went to our rooms relatively pissed off at the staff, and their unprofessionalism. Location of the hotel is good (but not GREAT) and rooms are kept very clean as is the rest of the hotel. However, the hotel is HUGE - it takes 10 minutes+ to go from your room to the outside world if you get placed in one of the really far rooms like we were despite clearly asking for that not to be the case in advance. There are lots of places to eat in the hotel itself, but the ones we tried were not really great. Also, and I think this goes without saying, but stay away from the hotel bar. One night, we order 2 rum and cokes, and paid a disgusting $54 for them... Overall, I would never choose the Mirage if I visited Vegas again. I'd go more central, try to be closer to the action, and probably stay at one of the newer hotels on the strip! Sorry but can't recommend this hotel!
