| - My friends and I bought tickets to attend the #VegasStrong benefit show at Omnia, and Oliver at the Hakkasan concierge group reached out to me with a dinner deal at Searsucker. $55 a person for either the prix fixe menu, or spend $55 on the a la carte menu. The entrees are around $30ish, so if you get a cocktail and an appetizer or dessert you're pretty much set. The bonus was a bottle of wine for each four people, and expedited entry into Omnia, which is a huge plus because the lines can get pretty crazy.
I don't remember our server's name, but he handled our party of 12 really well. We opted to do family style sharing plates, so he basically just ordered the menu highlights for us and made it work out to $55 a person. I think we probably would've gotten more food if we would have ordered on our own, but I'm much more of a tapas girl so small portions and bigger variety are right up my alley. They were super nice and even brought out different plates for my gluten-intolerant friend. I lost count, but we probably had about a dozen dishes in all.
Highlights were the burrata, scallops and the skirt steak. The beer marinade on the drunken skirt steak is amazing. The calamari was also really good - strip cut instead of rings and tentacles - super tender, with a yummy chili honey glaze. I'm a huge fan of short ribs and had high expectations for theirs, but it wasn't as "fall apart" as some other ones I've had. We also had hummus, poke, wings, heirloom carrots, brussels, and the brick chicken - everything was good, just nothing super special. I also had a smoked old fashioned, which was really well done. I wish I would have stirred it first though, because I had a sip that was all smoked maple syrup and almost dropped my glass. But once everything was mixed together the flavors were amazing! We skipped dessert because we had to head into Omnia for the show, but I could've easily put down an ice cream sandwich.
Ambiance wise, the restaurant was packed, not a ton of room between tables. EDM music is blasting; I assume because of their partnership with Omnia. Luckily for me that's right up my alley, but it's loud enough that I couldn't hear my friend two seats away. If you're going for dinner and convo, this probably isn't the place for you. But overall, I think it's a decently priced place on the strip with good food, and a great place to grab drinks and small bites before a night out.
