  • Actually MINUS 1- Apr 21, 8:51 AM On 4 16 2016 I am 72 years old I called and spoke with Andres asking for the sales person I had reached an agreement with (Riley) . I have never leased because I always thought of planning ahead now who knows how much more planning I have left. It is also supposedly less to lease as more money from your payment goes to principle and less to interest. Riley and I agreed to terms to put $1K down AND my 1996 Hyundai Accent for $2K as the down. Riley and I had agreed to terms and he was to come to my house and if I liked the car we were to drive back to the dealership and I was going to purchase the car. Keep in mind the figures were confirmed verbally and I considered this a deal with Riley assuring me he would come to my house right after he confirmed it with his manager. After not hearing from him for a while, I called to confirm the figures from Riley around 10 AM but instead got Andres, he told me he was going to put me on hold for a minute and get Riley. Andres returned to the phone telling me he spoke with Riley and confirmed Riley was coming to my house but unsure of when as he was busy. I thought OK. I waited ALL DAY Sat and about 4:45 PM called and wanted to know what happened. I was passed around to several but finally wound up speaking with Bruce Patrick, Sales Manager. He told me he would look into it. I called back as now I was really interested in what happened. Bruce said that the negotiated figures were not going to be honored. The offer for my trade was too high and the monthly pay was too low. I asked him if that was the case I could live with that but why didn't someone call me back to tell me the situation instead of keeping me waiting all day long. Then I was told that the original Sales person I spoke with Andres had to leave suddenly and forgot to tell Riley that I was expecting him so Riley never got the message even though Andres confirmed that Riley was definitely on the way but was busy did not know when but would get here as soon as he could. Bruce mentioned that Riley would call me the next day at an agreed upon time (11AM). Riley did call the next day at 11 AM with an apology and I presume make an attempt to up me to agreeing to a higher mo payment but I did not answer the phone. I find the first person you talk to a WASTE OF TIME as all the dealerships do this. When you have to get the approval from the BOSS is where everything goes south. If you are going to buy or lease REFUSE TO TAKE TO DEALER #1 as you waste hours of your time and you always have the possibility that the BOSS is not going to approve and renege. I have no use for Earnhardt Hyundai and as far as I am concerned He is FULL OF BULL AS IS HIS DEALERSHIP. I have been a Hyundai owner for 28 1/2 years total (my previous car was also a Hyundai and although I Love my car and it has proven a good buy I will definitely not be looking for another Hyundai. In my opinion the cars are good cars the dealerships are hard core and unethical.
