As a certified Kansas City Barbeque Judge in the North East, I find I get weary of the molasses, maple, and tomato and brown sugar based sauces. Midwood does it right, and does it Carolina style. Mustard sauces and vinegars, all kept in a warming tray so they are served hot. Their enormous rotating smoker in the back can handle to quantities that they have to produce for how good their 'q' is. The pork is soft and pulls easily without being baby food. The brisket (the most difficult of BBQ meats) is juicy, smoky, and flavorful. The brightly colored wood interior of the dining room is festooned with old timey comic book and movie paraphernalia. Along with a welcoming staff, you cannot go wrong here.
