This store creates an entire category all of its own for bad customer service. When they are open it's actually a complete gamble on what you might actually be able to purchase. Your first hurdle is the time of day, the second is what they decide to put on the shelves (usually their own higher priced sugar and flour laden products) and the final and most interesting one is your age.
Apparently they can't find staff that can tell the difference between a 16-year-old and a 90-year-old so bring your ID if you need cigarettes. Over at the liquor outlet run by another business owner (maybe with a brain) you can buy alcohol if you are 50 years old and not have to show your ID.
They also don't know what is in the food they prepare. This is despite the law saying you have to produce that information. Their favorite thing to say to you is: "You will have to go to our website," or "you will have to come back tomorrow," or they post a sign that is sure to make you want to come back again and again.
It reads: Sorry for the inconvenience. They don't have comment cards either - so "You will have to come back tomorrow when one of our managers is here."
They said the same when I brought back moldy fudge. The cashier didn't think it was a big enough problem to call a floor clerk to get the rest of the poison out of the store. Done! Done! Done! with this place. Do yourself a favor and head to the locally run market two blocks away on Queen's Quay.
