  • Fantastic addition to Toronto's brewery scene. When I visited, its focus seemed to be more on the hoppy end of things, with Kapow! IPA and a double IPA called Refuge, but it also had some other lighter fare like Armed n Citra (an American Pale Ale). The interior is pretty bare boned, with a tasting bar directly in front and a bottle shop to the side. Farther back is the space where the beer is actually made. Though its beer is delicious, what prevents me from giving it a 5 is its rather out of the way location and the fact that it doesn't quite reward you enough for the effort you put in getting there. Firstly, it's quite far away from anything else that could it be linked to (e.g. other restaurants or bars), limiting its appeal as a place just to pop in while doing other things. Secondly, the space isn't particularly comfortable, and I imagine would be pretty chilly during the winter with its large exposed glass panes and vast industrial space. Further, apart from the beer, I don't recall there being anything else to consume, which is fine, but combined with its out of way ness, makes it less appealing than I wish it were. All in all, great beers, it's just a shame we have to go that far away to get it.
