  • Can all my fitness dreams be true in one building? At the CF Nat I believe so. I joined mostly for the pool and secondly for running when Mother Nature decides to grace us with ice and snow. Pool: In intial reason I joined and the reason I feel I'm getting my moneys worth. As a former swimmer I am very picky with my pools. The Nat meets all expectations of cleanliness, water temperature, and availability. It's wonderful to be able to do laps and not see dirt and bandaids at the bottom of the pool. Also, water temperature can be a tricky thing. While most people like warmish water, it's awful to have swim laps in warm water. The Nat has a balanced system down with their lap, lesiure, and therapy pool. Finally, availabilty. I switched over from the YMCA which always seemed to have swim lessons, swim teams, and other events in the pool which made for very little lap swim time. At the Nat I am able to swim more because if the lap pool is completely full then there are 2 lap lanes in the leisure pool. A+ to pool managers. I'm not just a swimmer but also a runner. I adore running outside but not in the winter. As a normal outside runner, I can not stand treadmills. Althought the Nat has plenty of those, I enjoy the track more. The track is perfect to get my laps in and I've never seen it too crowded when I always seem to be there around 6 (we'll see how crowded it gets after the holidays though). I'm also happy to be working out with other like minded fitness junkies and like the lack of children hanging out in the gym. On that note as well I like the "adult only" locker room, although I wish it connected to the pool.
