| - As a former professional horticulturist, I'm pretty wary of tree services and usually do all of my own pruning. In this case, though, I just wanted some trees gone - an unruly 28 foot tall mesquite, and two nasty Mexican fan palms that I'd grown weary of.
Affordable responded promptly to my internet inquiry, came to my home as scheduled and wrote me an itemized estimate.
Their crew showed up on time, made quick work out of the three trees and cleaned up the mess to the point that my yard was cleaner than when they started. There wasn't a speck of debris left in the street where their chipper was parked.
Awesome, hard-working and talented team.
As for my replacement tree, I went with a Chinese Pistache. Drought tolerant, great fall color and much more manageable than the mesquite. I personally tagged the tree at the nursery and their crew picked it up and planted it.
As for the person who complained that stump grinding was just a few inches beneath the surface - that's normal unless you specifically request a complete extraction. Affordable doesn't charge an arm/leg for stump grinding. It takes an extraordinary amount of work and equipment to completely remove a large tree's crown to plant in the same spot. My new tree is planted a few feet from the old one. Affordable ground the stump and removed all of the surface roots.
While I don't have personal experience to recommend their pruning services, I was pleased with the quick work they did on these removals and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them for that.
I also liked their online invoicing. Nobody demanded payment after the work was done, I just got an email invoice and paid online. Nice.
