| - Get statements in writing before leaving your car. This is what I learned. I received three estimates for repair to the rear of my car. I also had damage on the "driver's side rocker"not covered by insurance. The rear damage was a hit and run so I had to pay deductible. Scott told me "I can fix the rocker for "between two and three hundred dollars. If you get the rocker fixed here we can negotiate the deductible." I was concerned that the insurance estimate indicated that they would not replace the tailgate, only pay to have the dent pulled and painted. My concerns, after a few years in the heat and sun, the paint fades and will not match. Scott opened the tailgate and stated, oh, this is creased, we will request a replacement of the tailgate." I believed Scott ad decided to leave my car at Wrightbet Auto, rather than use the other two auto repair shops because Scott stated 1) He would reduce the deductible if the rocker panel was repaired there. 2) He would replace the tailgate. Less than six hours later I received a call from Scott stating that it would cost six hundred dollars for the rocker panel to be replaced. I told him I would come down and get the car. He said I could not pick it up because it is in pieces...(.A very old trick I have since learned) I went to the shop to pick up the car and the bumper was pulled off. I regret not tossing the bumper in the back and driving up the street to the shop where I had the first estimate done. One of Scott's employees hand wrote an estimate that the repair of the rocker panel would cost $300.00 plus the full amount of the deductible!! I left the car. Five days later, the moment I drove into the drive, I could see the different shades of paint on the rear of the car. (White) One looked more yellow (the one on the hatchback) the bumper looked more of a grey white. Scott insisted that it was all the same color. I have asked three people, with not prompting "What do you think about the color on the back of my car?" All three mentioned that the paint on the bumper does not match the paint on the hatchback.
In addition, Scott told me he never stated that he would work with me on the deductible if I had the rocker panel fixed there. Had I known that I would be charged full amount for deductible and the rocker panel, I would have gone to another shop that offered to fix the rocker panel for $200.00 and was upfront about not replacing the tailgate!!! Be cautious...bring a recorder and bring a witness to the conversation....and of course get all statements in writing. I soooooo regret going to this dealership and not one of the other two where I received estimates. He is not honest. Scott used bate and switch tactics to get my are in the shop. Upped the price of the rocker and now everytime I approach my car to open the hatchback and see the paint shades, I have to remind myself to not hold onto anger....it will do me no good....
