Bought a package of laps for the husband for a special occasion. Great experience all the way around.
I don't want to duplicate what others have reviewed so I'll try to point out things that haven't been commonly mentioned:
- they can pick you up at your hotel, or you can drive yourself to the track (it's about 30 min north of the Strip, easy freeway drive).
- if you drive yourself and need a snack or meal before or after, there's Mo's Cafe nearby (find it on Yelp). Diner type place. Limited hours & early close.
- schedule or call in advance. They try to accommodate drop-ins, but there are only so many cars and instructors and there are multiple pre-scheduled guests. So don't just show up unannounced late one afternoon (like one guy when we were there) and assume you'll be able to drive.
- non-drivers can tag along for everything except the actual driving. I had expected to have to sit someplace and wait, but they let non-drivers follow along for the in-office instructional & car overview, and go to the trackside location and watch the cars. There's an indoor air-conditioned lounge with seating if you get tired of being outside. Free water and sodas.
- It can get super hot in summer, and you're in a little metal box on asphalt in direct sun, and you do have to wear a driving helmet. So be prepared that you may be uncomfortably hot and sweaty during and afterwards. Drink lots of water.
