| - I went to their website and they have an offer for $39 cleaning, exams & xrays, I couldn't be happier because I feel like it was the time to clean my teeth. I made an appointment to do the $39 cleaning from their website, I came to this place, and the receptionist was nice to me, she asked me to fill somekind of a medical history, not a big deal.
Then a guy called me to do the xray, he was really nice and sweet. I forgot his name... After that, he sent me into a room and told me to wait. A few mins later, the dentist came into the room, she was nice and friendly. She introduced herself and explained to me about the xray's results (I wanted to get braces, so I wanted to know what treatments should I do before I can do that)
She told me I need to do 2 teeth extractions, crown for 4 front teeth, and get my old fillings changed to new fillings. (Yes, my teeth is not a good looking one because I was scared going to the dentist when I was 15 and I regret it a lot right now)
The hygienist (I assumed) came into the room with her assistant, she started to check my teeth and pulled something with something sharp on it, like a needle. And she pricked my gums with that and it hurts like hell. As she pricked my gums, she would mention numbers and her assistant wrote it down. After she finished doing that, my gums were bleeding and there was no water or anything for me to rinse my mouth. She then told me I have a gum disease. I was shocked because I went to check my teeth regularly before I moved to the States and none of my dentist ever told me that.
And then she walked out of the room, the receptionist came to me with a paper and told me that I have to pay almost $1000 for deep cleaning, I told her I can't afford it, I came here to do the $39 and wanted to know about the treatments I should do in order for me to be able to get braces. And she said she'll try to talk to the dentist, she then came to me again with another paper that I have to pay $500, I said I really can't afford that much for cleaning, maybe next time. She then finally gave me the last fee which was $97, and I said okay. And then the hygienist came into the room and for some reason she looked UNHAPPY and it was painful when she cleaned my teeth.
After she finished cleaning my teeth, she said the receptionist would print all the treatments I need to get braces and they charged me $8000 for all of it (only treatments, not the braces) I don't know if that's normal in America for that price. But that's a lot of money for me and maybe I'll try to go to another orthodontist and see how much they'll charge me to get braces.
I gave 1 star because I don't think they should feel "unhappy" if a person can't afford to pay $1000 for a cleaning, they should be able to understand their clients' situation. If I'm wrong, then I'm sorry for my review but I just wanted to share my experience.
Ps: they didn't even tell me if they have any saving plans or discounts if I use a certain dental insurance. They just gave me the paper and said nothing at all. I'm sad the way they treated me because they probably think ah she doesn't money, so fuck her. But you know what, if I don't feel comfortable there, why would I want to spend my money there...
