Going right in with 5 stars! I read an article in the paper about their soup and recalled that I haven't been to Kabul since I was in college when I was first exposed to all the ethnic food Madison offered. On a cool windy fall day, we stopped in for lunch. My first thought was "how the hell does this place stay in business on the second floor?" It was 12:05 and we got the last table by the window. Within minutes the place was full. Based on my experience it must be regulars that come back (upstairs) for the food. The spicy and hearty soup hit the spot on a fall day. The warm Afghani bread was perfect to soak up the complimentary tomato chutney. I was so pleasantly surprised with everything about this place I can't wait to go back. We didn't drink but noticed the beverage list was reasonably priced (bottle of Louis Martini Cab for $29, $4.50 pints of Hopalicious)
