  • I found this place to be quite the money-pit. On top of the $100 plus per month fee, they charged for belts. Then, they pushed you hard to pay for individual training classes, inferring that it could be the difference between getting a belt or not. I also wasn't a fan of the Shihan running the place, Kenneth White. He only showed us attention at the sign-up session. After that, not much at all. He also seemed to take some pleasure in mismatching some of the kids in sparring. White belts vs red belts, for instance/. Ooohing and ahhing when the predictable happened, laughing about it. They definitely had their favorites and it showed. We left right after this. Several of the instructors were badly out of shape and did not seem to follow the principals they preached about nutrition and taking care of your body. I also think they were doing a disservice by awarding ten-year old kids a black belt, in my opinion. The one bright spot was Sensei Chopper. He was fantastic with the kids and treated us with respect.
