  • i'm vietnamese, and my family in the old country was from the north (pho is originally a north vietnamese dish) and lived in the south. Hey this already gets me street cred. WORD. I'm really a snob when it comes to pho. I rarely rarely ever order it unless i'm real homesick, or craving it like a 512 ( not those roxicets) cause I am that loyal to the way my parents make it. I think pho should be eaten without siracha, and without hoison just lime for acid kiddos. I thought their pho was pretty good. Sometimes at restaurants you can taste a lot of MSG in the pho. Pho needs MSG kids and it's okay it's just soy product don't worry. But sometimes it gets excessive and it just makes you crazy thirsty and you can just taste it immediately. Since I don't pour sriracha and hoisin in my pho it also can smell just not as clean. Ha, I can't think of how to describe this in english ( I swear i'm not a fob). The portion was a decent size, and a good noodle to meat ratio. I hate when It's all meat no noodles. All in all pretty good and fulfilled my craving and didn't just make my homesickness worse like most of the time. My friend had bun thit nuong cha gio (bbq beef, egg rolls rice noodles) They have banh hoi too which is cool, I like that better than just bun. It looked pretty good, he really liked it and they gave you two cha gio (egg rolls) cause lots of places are stingy here in arizona and like to give you one. The guy who owns the place is really nice really friendly guy. A lot of people in the restaurant seem to be on very good terms with him which is nice. He reminded me of one of my dad's friend's I bet he even has a really bad gambling problem too ( ah the curse of the vietnamese) The place is really clean for a vietnamese place. Vietnamese places aren't know for their cleanliness so a real plus. Expensive I guess if you base it on Cen Pho's prices but much better food I think.
