| - Once a year I get to spend a few days in Scottsdale for work meetings, but this year they switched things up and moved us to Tempe, smack in the middle of Sun Devil country. I guess that only matters if you're from Tucson AND a Wildcat fan. The views from one of the conference rooms faces A-mountain, which was quite lovely and to my surprise, very similar to our A-Mountain in Tucson. The view to the campus wasn't too bad either!
Back to the hotel- super cute retro and chic place to stay. My personal favorite is the Valley Ho, and this was like it's little sister. Fun atmosphere, funky interiors and eye catching touches almost everywhere. Did anyone notice the wall paper in the bathrooms? I think I spent ten minutes analyzing all the little faces. Most importantly, my room was clean!
You'll find two eateries on the property. The Normal Diner and Cafe Tapacubo. As far as other amenities go, there's not a ton. The fitness room is pretty darn tiny, equipped with a few machines, a treadmill, elliptical and free weights. You're better off running along the campus...so I hear.
If you're looking for conference space, I'd definitely recommend the Graduate for that too. The room were used was spacious and bright with awesome light fixtures, floor to ceiling windows facing the campus, a refreshment bar and a huge projector/screen for presentations.
The Graduate was a great fit for our group and I'd be happy to stay here again on a work related trip.
