  • Canadian tire was going to charge me 500$ to change 3 fan belts and fix the tentioner... one cold sunny day i hear a squeeling noise comeing out the hood of my engine then snap! I look in the rearview mirror and i see a black rubber piece bounce away so i panic and pull over. Look in my hood and a belt is gone! Lucky some guy came to help we pushed my car away from a fire hydrant he looked inside and said "im lucky its only a air conditioner belt" phew "but this other belt is weak and about to snap" and it was i had just a few driving mins left and near by was a canadian tire. I go in there the lady said the diagnosis is 45$ so i said sure how much can a fan belt be? and itll probly be cheaper than a tow truck... so i thought...but when the old guy probly about 50 years old came out he said "he will need to change 3 belts and fix the tentioner or else the new belts will keep snapping!!" ..."it will take 2.5 hours and cost 500$" so i say "no thank you my whole car isnt even worth that much for that ill just scrap it and buy a new one" so i paid the 45$ and was glad to get out of there knowing i didnt give them more and now i never will to those rotton mechanics. I got the towtruck to my boyfriends mechanic and he changed the power steering belt for 20$ that was about to snap because the ac belt peice got stuck in it. My ac doesn't work anyways so only the one was needed. Its been 4 months and no more belts have snapped.
