I really wanted to love this place.
Bear with me though my logic for a moment...
I decided to try Whitehouse after a "beginner stylist" butchered my boyfriend's hair. He had shoulder length curls walking into the salon and 2 hour past closing, walked out looking like a silverback gorilla in a dress shirt. It was terrible. But the follow up appointment was so redeeming I had to give this place a shot: After contacting his mentor, the "beginner stylist" came into work 2 hours early on a weekend and fixed his mistake... it was gorgeous. My boyfriend and loved it so much, he continues to wear his hair short a year after the fact.
I absolutely LOVE the idea that a hairdresser would spend an extra 4 hours fixing his mistake and come out so far on top was enough to make me give them a chance.
My first appointment was for a cut and root touch up with an "expert stylist". It was great. I went back a week later for a balayage ombre and that's when the "expert stylist" unleashed his inner demons.
I wanted a subtle balayage ombre... HE put my hair in foils and bleached the shit out it!!! Somehow I spent over $250 and left that day with hair that still makes me cry when I look in the mirror 3 months later. It broke off into the sink while he rinsed out the bleach and he still refused to admit he had made a mistake. My long dark hair was now dominated by blunt, and staggered chunks of broken bleach blonde. I went in with lovely hair and left looking like I had gotten drunk and realized there was an old box of clairol under sink... I was devastated. I still wear my hair in bun everyday so no one can see how bad it looks.
I wasn't going to write a review, because I think spiteful reviews should often be recanted after the initial shock is lost... but it has been 3 months and I still feel like there was a huge injustice done to my hair.
Whitehouse Salon, I cannot recommend you as a reputable salon.
