  • Before I attended University of Phoenix, I had attended several tech schools. They got me nowhere. So, I did a lot of research on schools before I started working on my degree. I found that University of Phoenix is a real school and issues real degrees. Also, while I was in school I discovered that I was actually taking the same classes and using the same books as my friends that were attending Cal State Long Beach. In addition, I did not realize how much I did not know until I became educated. This school changed my life for the better. I went from working a dead-end minimum wage job to working at my dream job. With each degree I went for my life got better. The classes were challenging and the workload could be overwhelming at times. However, college is not meant to be easy. I found that if I set goals to get through each class one at a time, rather than looking at everything I had left to do, I was able to breeze through each class and complete each degree I attempted. It was also very expensive. It was the price I had to pay for the convenience of going to school online. If I could have attended a traditional school and still work full-time I would have. However, the money I am making now has made up for the student loan debt I have. I am also on my way to becoming a doctor. I would have never thought that was possible before I started this journey.
