Valley Metro is wildly inconsistent between towns. If I ride in Phoenix, I can count on problems with old buses breaking down, no A/C, crabby bus drivers and people. If I cross the border into Scottsdale, whoa! What just happened? Now I'm on a multi-million dollar electric bus that is all shiny and new and the bus runs every 20 minutes and everyone is pleasant???? And whoa again, if I cross from Scottsdale to Tempe, now there are some free buses and lightrail and a whole bunch of options not available in any other town? And whoa, if I cross over into Glendale or Peoria, there are NO buses (literally no bus routes!). Hey, City of Phoenix, can we call this city METRO Phoenix and provide consistent bus service across every town within the METRO area? I pay $6 day pass for bus service and I don't expect a ridiculous variation in bus service quality between towns.
