I'm a fan of YMT because they always have an opening. The space is more medical than spectacle, but considering you spend most of your time face down, does it really matter? They do have relaxing music, which is the bare minimum I need for a massage. It's always awkward when it's silent. At least for me. YMT is the mother of all ships when it comes to therapists. There are so many and they are all different. Everyone has their own strengths and weaknesses. It's just a matter of finding one that suits you. It took me five tries, but I eventually found two that I like. One for the days when an old injury acts up or I kink my neck, and one for those days I just want to feel like mellow like jello. The bottom line: You're looking for for therapy, not frivolity. One hour with one of YMT's RMTs will set you back $95 WITH tax. And of course, if you have insurance benefits, like me, then it's kind of free.
