I've floated twice - in a pod by myself and open concept w/ my bf. I wasn't as relaxed the first time because the whole concept was so new, so different that it took a while to shut off my brain and focus on.... nothing. If I were to go back by myself, I would choose the open concept as it felt like there's more room to stretch out your arms. You can choose to have the multicoloured lights on or off. I found the nature sounds in the pods at a better volume than the open concept, especially when you have the ear plugs in. I'm not sure if this is something the front desk can adjust. My only suggestion is to have a more private designated lounge area after the float. They currently have a little seating area w/ a divider beside the entrance where you can have ginger tea/coffee while watching beach-y scenery on the TV.
