Spirit Airlines is NOT low cost! I expect a low cost airline to actually be lower in cost than other airlines. However, NOT by feeing everything to death! Fees for carry-on, fees for checked bags, fees for even non-upgraded seating, fees for boarding passes if not printed at home, fees for water, soda, and snacks......by the time you're through, you'll have spent far more than other airlines. I ended up canceling the Spirit flight and throwing away $176 and paying $80 (plus miles) to book another flight on a competitor frequent flyer award rather than pay the additional fee I would have paid just for a carry-on bag - $45-65...are you kidding me?
