With the 15-18 years this hotel has been in LV, I've just never given them a chance. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality in the hotel.
I'll be first to admit, I'm quite difficult to please, and they did the job. Got a nice upgrade for a minimal feed at checkin. Suite was very nice, and Surprisingly clean for an older hotel. Hallways leading to room were very classy.
Room had a steam shower, which was incredibly nice, even had a subwoofer for the tv in loving area which was awesome.
NOTE: don't book the "run of the house" they stuff you in whatever room them want... Bad view, smoking room, no bed choices, etc... So of course we paid for the upgrade after not knowing that.
Staff was friendly the whole time, entire hotel was always very clean, and almost all the food we ate on property was very good. My one complaint was with the casino. Gaming cashier cages were "in-conveniently" placed wayyyy out of the way to make it extremely difficult to cash out. And they maintain a long line so it discourages you to cash out (was a 15 minute wait) one time. Slots are also very tight, worst I've seen in Vegas after trying 20-30 machines, never won a dollar or ever got above what I bought in... Learning lesson. Poker dealers were a bit rude too, but I've become used to that in Vegas as well. So you loose a star for your sucky gaming, but everything else was wonderful.
