I was here a couple of weeks ago, I have suddenly been on a fried chicken excursion of late. Anyways, the place is tiny, just two small tables on the inside and some on the outside. I had the chicken and waffles, one of my favorite combo. I saw the roll in the bags as someone else had mention. That is really poor, a place name Louisiana should have their own in house made biscuits. Back to my meal, first the chicken is nice and crispy, has a good skin of crust on it, the spices are mild if barely noticeable, kind of weak actually no kick at all. For this I am expecting some spices: salty, sweet, hot, tangy, but it wasn't there except like I said very mild. The chicken was moist and held its juices well. The chicken was okay but actually weaker and less flavorful than popeye's spicy chicken. The waffle was actually a surprise. They made a belgium waffle with deep squares(not the typical southern waffle) and it was nice and crisp on the outside and chewy on the inside. A hint of sweetness but not too much but could be use to eat by itself with the chicken without the syrup. With the syrup it was very good.
Now there really are not many options here with exception of some shrimp and some sides. The chicken is so-so but the waffle made up for it. Is it the best I have tasted, no not reallyt but it was decent enough that I would come back and try it again and also I will have to come back and try some of the other sides except the pre-made roll.
