DO NOT ELECT THIS COMPANY AS YOUR HEALTH INSURANCE! I have been with Meritus since 1/1/2015 and it has been a continuous nightmare - issues include claims that were paid, then reversed for no prior authorization, although authorization was recieved; telephone hold times of 45 monutes or more; phone reps who are untrained and put you on hold every other sentence; difficulty finding good providers who accept Meritus, 2 months to receive coverage documents and inability to use the website until these were received - the list goes on. My husband and I were initially insured with Meritus as of 1/1/2015; in April 2015, he went on Medicare, and the Meritus coverage needed to be limited to me only. I notified Meritus in mid-February, so that they would have 45 days to handle the change; it took until May to get a new premium amount and a new member number, while being dunned for non-payment of my premium, despite being told NOT to pay until the issue was resolved! I cannot wait until open enrollment to select another company - the lower premiums are NOT worth the difficulty of dealing with this company!!
