Been three times. Steadily worse each time. Not another chance.
I expect frozen fish, this is Charlotte. I expect crowds, this place is tiny, and in a strip mall. I DON'T expect an hour to get 20 pieces of mediocre nigiri, even if it is on a nifty little boat. (Not sure how they are getting those CLEAN enough to eat off of, but hey, I don't work for the health department).
It took 30 minutes to get two of us in, and 10 to get in an order. 30 mintes later, still just a beer, nothing else. Others around us just keep getting fed, we just sit. Better yet, when I have the audacity to ask what's taking so long, the waitress gets huffy and kept blathering that nigiri takes longer to make. Gee, I've never eaten sushi before, please guide me sensei.
Just admit that you screwed up somewhere. Cut the BS. Don't keep coming by and making excuses AFTER 30 MINUTES, 45 mintues, an hour.
Say something like it's on a slow boat...
30 minutes more, boat time. Ordered a small beer. Happy just to get my order in the end, but clearly some of it had been on the boat for some time. After saying so, one of the sushi chefs came out and apologized for the time taken and told me they would comp my second beer...so that's something, I suppose.
$3.50 for an hour sounds more Chinese than Japanese, but I digress.
Two and a half hours I won't get back, and felt like a waste then and now, but maybe I can keep others from doing the same.
In sum, save your money and keep looking for better, it HAS to be out there.
