I must admit a smile comes to my face as i write this, only because it's the kind of place you describe as an experience. I booked online and didnt get to know the name of the hotel until after booking, i think it was thro hotwire. i just knew the area was near st. catherine st and the bus terminal which for me was good. i was able to get off the bus and literally walk across the st to the hotel, ideal after a bus ride from boston. i didnt hear any noise from the station so no complaints there. basically you get what you pay for and i didnt pay much here. i was more into saving money to spend in the city. the room itself was ok. clean, the bathroom actually very clean. my view was of the back of another building, lol. the tv got some good channels and they had free wi fi. i had not requested a non smoking room since i figured whats the diff if i wont be smoking-big mistake. the towels reeked of smoke. smoke seeped into the room from other rooms, both tobacco and weed. i got a second hand high, not so bad, but ended up with a horrible sore throat by the end of the trip, i stayed about 4 nights. i didnt realize how bad the sore throat would be or i might have asked to switch, perhaps they have a non smoking floor? it's a family owned hotel, like a band b style hotel, only 3 floors. one afternoon i took a mid afternoon nap afte i was sure the maid had come and gone, yet someone with a key actually started to open the door and startled me. why were they trying to get in if it was already cleaned? it was clearly a staff member, but still. continental breakfast was actually good, nice size muffins and coffee or tea and juice, you go down to the desk and then bring it to your room which i liked. i found the sign downstairs noting that no visitors were allowed for guests a bit odd. i'm not sure if this is a rent by the hour place, but i didnt notice or hear anything that bothered me, i slept fine. the smoke was the worst part. and there was 1 day the maid never came. like i said you get what you pay for. this was fine for my stay, i was out and about and just slept here. if you want a cozy hotel with ambiance though, head elsewhere.
