I got two tickets to the wine walkabout tour as a gift for my wife. I figured it would be boring and the people we got stuck with would be snobs but I thought my wife would enjoy the tour so it would be worth it to put up with snobs and boredom to make her happy. Turns out I was totally wrong (in a good way). We both had a great time. We went to three different places all with a different feel and presentation. The individuals who were teaching us about wine pairings and some of the history of wine were engaging and informative. Some of the pairings were so off the wall it made the tour super interesting; Fried chicken and wine??? It totally worked. It helped that the group we were with was great as well but come to think of it I do tend to like people more after I have had a few drinks. Which brings me to a little bit of advice I would give to anyone else taking the tour. You should eat before you start the tour or plan on eating afterwards if you plan on driving. You are only taking a few sips of each wine but it adds up quickly!
