After hiking nearly every mountain in the valley, I finally checked off this one from the list this past weekend. Maybe it was due to all the crazy large and challenging trails I've tackled, but North Mountain was pretty underwhelming. I equate it to a larger version of Hayden Butte ("A" Mountain) with paved trails but slightly steeper parts with some scrambling involved. The view at the top though is pretty nice! I like how you can see Central Ave go straight into downtown. Not sure if I'll be going here again any time soon as it's far away from where I live, but if you want a hike that's noticeably less strenuous than Camelback or Piestewa, definitely come here.
