Great local race right in the heart of UIUC and it's perfect for people looking start their couch to 5k programs.\n\nMy wife and I had a goal just to finish before the 50 minutes were up and we just made it! \n\nThe 5k usually happens on the Friday night before the marathon. I haven't run the marathon but I have volunteered 2 years for my company at mile 24. It's a pretty flat race And very residential. \n\nI loved this race for several reasons. 1) great parking ( UIUC campus parking) 2) the locals cheering you on 3) well organized 4) great medals for finishing 5) great for family runs!"^^ . .
