It was a cold Wednesday night and I was from out of town. I was on a search for Poutine and Beer. Upon entering it was somewhat empty and I pulled up at the bar and found a seat. On my right were two Cruise ship workers from Montenegro and on the left some young Americans looking for cheap shots before they went out on the town. I introduced myself to the bartender and started with an IPA. It was fresh and tasty. Next I ordered \"The Classic\" Poutine and asked for the addition of bacon and scallions. The bartender obliged without hesitation. I sucked down a local Lager and a live band began playing. They were outstanding. Female drummer, female vocalist, male on guitar. Great sound and I told the vocalist to try out for The Voice. And. Then. My. Poutine. Arrived. I got a quick whiff of the Poutine as the steam rose towards my nose. It was smoky. The moment it touched my tongue was a burst of flavor- a perfect combination of salty and savory. The cheese was a little rubbery, just how it should be. My palate melted. My taste buds reached new peaks. It was glorious. I finished with a water and a tequila on the rocks. Both were to my satisfaction. \n\nIn short, I would go back on a cold Wednesday night if I was visiting Montreal and in search of beer, Poutine, and music."^^ . . . .
