"3"^^ . . "I called CALFO one day after I smelled a burning/metallic smell coming from some of my furnace vents. The temperature was going to be in the 20s for the next few days, so I needed to get whatever was wrong fixed ASAP.\n\nThey were able to come out the next day (a few hours later than I was anticipating) and check out the furnace. It turned out that the blower motor had died, and they quoted me about $900 to replace it. That seemed high to me, but I needed a fix and it seemed a bit too much of a pain to do it myself, so I just sucked it up and paid it.\n\nThe tech was nice, the blower motor was replaced in maybe an hour or so, and my furnace was back in action. However, I soon realized (as I suspected) that I had been price gouged pretty badly -- after some Google research, I found that a blower motor replacement tends to be around $450 up to maybe $600, so it seems I had been overcharged by quite a bit.\n\nUltimately they did good work, but it's probably worth it to shop around for better prices if you can."^^ . .
