I take pride in being a member of the Yelp Elite community, but feel that honesty is the best policy. \nI arrived a little late, just in time to hear the manager (I believe) give a short intro. I then waited a very long time at the bar before being approached for my order. During that time a couple of appetizers were being offered. The chickpea fricasse was my favorite followed by the pork / pesto on toast (not sure of the correct name). A tuna toast point and some sort of dumpling were also offered. \nI sampled the house made sangria, which was delicious, and a refreshingly tart pineapple daiquiri. I then had the opportunity to mingle a bit and order the French onion soup from the menu - which was gorgeously presented but fell flat in the flavor department. It was sweet but missing that savory element that makes great French onion soup. \nI would like to think that this was just a case of being under staffed and that a second trip would turn out differently. The space is brilliant - bright, modern and clean with a gorgeous view of the surrounding buildings. \nOur Yelp community leaders did a wonderful job organizing this event - I feel terrible it did not leave many of the attendees with a positive experience. I'm hoping the owners, managers and staff take this as a way to make some small changes to better serve their guests - because this place could really be a crowd favorite!"^^ . .
