Well, it it's right in the middle of going towards downtown or going towards the strip. If you have an agenda, you'll always pass by this place. I think it's taken me over 5 years to finally try here. So this time while in Vegas, as I always try a local joint when I'm in town, Viva Las Arepas it was! \n\nThere is parking in the strip mall here. Depending what time you come here, it can be packed or not. We came at 7pm when it was packed and left at 8pm when it was not. The signage for the menu can be daunting at first. But when you look closer, it's really the same thing in English and the same thing in Spanish. They're not quite mirror perfect, but trust me it's the same. \n\nI was a little hungry the day I was here, with some 4 other friends. We ordered almost $90 worth of food and drinks. No, I'm not kidding. We got to try a lot of different things from here. So here it goes:\n\nWood Fire Beef-cut in thick 1/2 inch strips. Flavorful, not tender, slightly on the salty side, great with the mojo sauce. They do give you quite a bit. Think of beef jerky but just a tad softer. The side of beans and white rice were ok, nothing to be excited about and the portions were really small. \n\nFried Plantains-I have to say, this was the BEST fried plantains I have tasted anywhere. I've been to a lot of places and this place does it slightly crispy on the outside, soft and not overly sweet once you bite into it. MUST order.\n\nFried Yucca-So these are cut in one inch strips and fried. I thought they would be as good as the plantains. NO, they're not ! They tasted strange. It had a weird aftertaste on some of them I had. I do question the freshness of the Yucca. \n\nMango drink-Tasted like a watered down version of a mango lassi. Honestly, skip it. \n\nArepas-Now the arepas itself, they were quite good. They were airy that I couldn't taste any of the cornmeal. As for the fillings, there are plenty of choices but ugh, the line cook here put way too much salt into the shredded beef one. \n\nMost of us liked this place but personally it's not one of those places I'm dying to go back. Prices here aren't quite cheap for cheap eats. They do open until 12am so if you want something different, I would definitely come here. 3.5 stars."^^ . "3"^^ .
