. . "My aunt and uncle have been taking their bimmers to Bill for 25+ years, and I recently took my 2007 335i in after moving to Pittsburgh.\n\nBased on my experience, Bill gets five stars for the following reasons:\n\n1. He has more BMW experience and context than than anyone I've ever met. He's been a BMWCCA instructor, has his own race cars, and has been involved with BMW modification and tuning from its nascency in the U.S.\n\n2. He has a low tolerance for BS, is very blunt, and is 100% honest. That combination is rare nowadays.\n\nThat said, Bill is definitely not for everyone.\n\nFor example, don't contact him if you're simply looking for a cheap BMW mechanic. More frequent, better maintenance with Bill will be more expensive than following dealer maintenance guidelines during early ownership. But your bimmer will run better, last longer, and be cheaper to maintain and repair as the miles pile up.\n\nAlso, Bill probably won't work on your car if you do. He doesn't like to be responsible for maintenance if non-professionals are at work, which makes sense to me. That goes for questionable modifications, too--he might not work on a car with mods that might compromise the car's performance, safety, or other functionality.\n\nThe bottom line is that Bill is incredibly competent but is not for everyone. Also, he often holds off on accepting new customers until he's sure that he can continue to provide timely service to his current base. As a customer, that's something I appreciate."^^ . . "0"^^ .
