When walking down the street, my boyfriend and I noticed people eating black, purple, and green ice cream on black ice cream cones. We figured it was matcha green tea and ube, but were intrigued with the black ice cream and cone. Thankfully, we were able to track down the location and get in line about 30 minutes before closing to check out what the hype was about.\n\nAlthough the shop is really small, the line was out the door and took almost half an hour for us to be able to order. There, we found out that the black ice cream and cone is made from charcoal. There are other ice cream flavors on display to try, but not many people seemed to be interested in them. The staff was very helpful and even offered samples to anyone wanting to try.\n\nI wanted to sample all the flavors available, so I chose a charcoal cone with half matcha green tea and half ube/charcoal twist. This came out to be $6.50, which is pretty expensive for some ice cream. The charcoal had a hint of coconut to it and I deeply appreciate the flavors not being overly powerful and too sweet. The charcoal cone did not taste much of charcoal, but had a gritty texture to it. There is also marshmallow fluff in the bottom of the cone to devour. Like many have stated before me: eat quickly as the soft serve melts very fast.\n\nThe staff was pleasant and I had no gripes on the food (except for the price point). There is a lot of hype towards this product and I am honestly excited about showcasing it on my Instagram, but I don't think this would be a place I would go out of my way to visit."^^ .
