"Firstly, I would advise that you *DO NOT RENT/MOVE HERE*, secondly *ALWAYS VIEW THE UNIT YOU ARE MOVING INTO BEFOREHAND* Thirdly, I have never wanted to move out of an apartment the day I moved in, until now. I have been renting for years and cannot believe I made this rookie mistake. I saw the model, and it was so cute. The building was old, and I was aware of this, but the model was clean and looked very inviting. The leasing agent (I'm going to be polite, and not include her name. If you're really interested, contact me) sold me a great bill of goods. All the common areas on the property look great. Go take a look at the dumpster areas, and you might change your mind.\n\nLike most people, my December was crazy. Work, the holidays, a major trip and a move. I forgot to ask to see the unit...and that will never happen again. So, imagine my move in day, when I got into the unit exhausted, and realized, I would have to clean it before I did anything else. Here's the short list.\n\nThe Good:\n* The faux wood flooring (bath and kitchen areas) and new carpet are nice\n* The neighborhood and neighbors are nice (and quiet)\n* The appliances all work. They creak, but work.\n\nThe Bad:\n* It stinks in here. Of old, of dirt, etc. I suspect this place was never cleaned after that last tenant left and it needs a serious deep clean. \n* The blinds, the fixtures, the cabinetry are all from good ole '86 or whatever the original build date is. The blinds are old, and bent. You probably don't want to touch them, unless you want them to come down or break apart in your hands. \n* The screens on the windows were bent to hell. Scorpions welcome?\n* The builders tan/brown cabinets have been painted white. One coat, with lovely paint drips all over. Classy.\n* There are several places where I think a door once was, but it's been covered up with a single sheet of plywood. Also Klassy.\n* There was something brown and fuzzy in the back of one cupboard; I vacuumed it up and refuse to contemplate what it was?!\n* The top cupboards still had some tenant's dinnerware in there. The cupboards are painted white (inside as well). The surface was black with dirt. Not brown with dust. BLACK. I'm pretty sure no one has ever looked inside there. \n* Weirdly, all appliances worked & were seemingly clean, but again, old. \n* Refrigerator - Smells. I have to get in there and scrub - with Bleach\n* Freezer - Ditto\n* Stove - Burners are metallic brown (caked on oil) from use. Even a cheap replacements would have cleaned it up.\n* Microwave - Works. Seemingly clean\n* Dryer - Had some brown water stain on it that I scrubbed off. Filter smells like cat pee.\n* The kick plate area under the kitchen sink looked like a something had been eviscerated (killed) on it. It was so bad, I asked them to paint it. They did. \n* ALL of the white surfaces in this place are filthy. Stained with years of dirt. This is the first time I've had to put down contact paper in the kitchen and bathroom cupboards. THERE IS BLACK DIRT IN THE BATHROOM SHELVING. There is black dirt on all the shelving surfaces. wth.\n* Tub and toilet are gross. The tub has people grime ground into it. I will clean it because I'm convinced whoever their cleaning service is will not do it correctly. They did however put one of those paper strips around the toilet to show it was clean?! That was comedy.\n* The tub has fixtures from...(you know where I'm going with this). The first night I turned the faucet, a lot of brown rust? plopped into said tub. \n* All of paint on trims like the bottom of door to the patio are chipped away. \n\nA word about the staff. I truly believe they are trying to do their best. Apart from my leasing agent, who destroyed our good rapport, from the Manager down to the Maintenance man, I see them trying to be professional, and work with what they've got, but they have terrible backup, support, funding, whatever.\n\nI could go on, but why bother? I basically have moved to the ghetto. I have only half unpacked because it's dirty and I don't want their stuff touching my stuff, and I want less to pack up when I'm free of this lease. I am feeling sorry for myself and I am p-----d at myself and this situation.\n\nThe good news is, this is a crap, beat down rental to begin with. Anything I have asked to have cleaned or fixed will just elevate it from its current state to Better Crap. At $1000 a month, I should be living better than ever, instead of coming home to this pile. Do not give this place your money, because I highly suspect someone is spending the majority of it in Vegas, instead of on upkeep. If you want to experience what it is like to live under slumlord conditions, move here. If they want people to stay...Oh hell, just see the other 1 Star reviews. They speak the truth.\n\nThe lights are out in the parking structure. Yay. Come on 2018."^^ . . .
