. "Yelp Reviews were trying my nerves. Went in with an open mind. \n5 stars for Hotel Experience, minus huge 1 star for problemed Casino. \nCHECKING IN: \nCheryl, blond hair, there 12 years, made check-in a pleasure. Great way to start. Friendly, really liked her. Spoke to people from Ireland checking out= they had a blast. Review nerves settled a bit. \nROOM\nSmoke free hallway, nice new clean room. Ice/drink machine next to elevators, and so great start continues. \nPOOL\nDon't bring any food/drink to the pool. Can bring commercially sold water bottle as long as sealed, never opened. Can bring coffee, because don't serve at pool. (Coffee near Habitat Elevators.) If rule bothers you, then don't come to any Vegas pools. Standard procedure all over Strip. House makes money on food/drink. More importantly liable for food served (Health Department) and your safety. Purses, bags, back-backs checked by Security on way into Pool. All other Strip places, your bags will be checked same way.Thank Security for keeping your pool safe. \nTWO POOLS WERE OPERATING \nBOOM, BOOM party pool for boom, boom people; not for kids. First pool crowded, more for families, however, many adults, singles, couples. (Too much boom, boom, at other empty pool. Can't read or talk!) Plenty of towels, Security, people having great time at this Beach Club Pool. Vigilant Life Guards eyes always on pool, 3 1/2 feet deep. \nPOOL BAR AND GRILL\nBe served by pretty girls in small bathing suits (truly sweet kids) or just walk into grill when ready. Grill steps away. Drinks - say a beer- costs eight bucks. A drink at any bar on the Strip will run $12-14. Menu shows chicken strips with fries. Not showing is $22 dollar 12 strip with fries portion. Ask for it. Chicken strips are large (like small chickens) truly tender. Fries large, big squares with air holes. Easy 3-4 people eating. Working bar/counter was Peter=Remembered me from day before. I got a \"Welcome back!\" By caring for Customer, Peter cares for his job & The Flamingo. Allison also attentive. \nSECURITY, LIFE GUARDS= POOL STAFF\nSecurity=Big Dudes= 280-300 plus lbs., like if you took a mad run at one of them, they would probably think you just tripped. Good attitudes, helpful. Don't so much as use a curse word, will quietly be escorted out. Talking to parents when I say you will feel relaxed, safe. \nAmazing: Not going to find this level of cooperation amongst labor in other Vegas union hotels. At Flamingo Pool, all helped each other! Watched Security Guards pick up towels, arrange chairs. Life Guards cleaning up. One Life Guard, Marie, checking if Guests, including me, needed fresh towels. She fetched us some. Impressive teamwork, just not common in other Strip Pool places. \nWHO COMES TO THE FLAMINGO\nNot pretentious people; people trying to prove something. Noticeable: people having good time. Manners, smiles, people saying \"thank you, excuse me, sorry about that\" ... Happy! (Not like the last few Vegas years. Something's in the water.)\nVEGAS STREETS\nLast few years, stepping over Homeless people on the Strip, on overpasses (see my review where I advocate for mafia coming back.) This time, one homeless person. Again, public was gracious. Watched gentleman give up front row stance at Bellagio Fountains so two little girls could see show. Hope it keeps up. \nPARKING\n12 dollars per day is going rate on Strip. When parking was free, spots went to trouble making non-Guests. Hotels charge now and it makes for positive difference, a safer Las Vegas. Will say this, there 2 days and 1 hour= $36. Yep, last hour cost me $12. Stick to your watch. \nGreat photos of Flamingos, turtles, exotic fish/birds. \nCASINO\nI don't gamble. I throw dice. Like the comradery. Relaxes me win or lose. Haven't played Flamingo in years. Wanted back. First night feel= slight problem w/Cocktail Waitress=screwed up drinks for me & others playing. No one complained 'cause she's real elderly & nasty. Had fun despite, took their money, few hundred up, cashed out. 2nd night, I came to sink feet in sand, prepared for 3 hour run. Within 2 minutes same Cocktail Server=nasty from get-go! What is this, a tolerance test? She then snuck in a so-called scotch/soda. (Really someone's old ice melted drink bussed from another player/meant for return) Disgusting. No color/alcohol, obviously water downed dirty. Insulting! Server starts arguing?! Insisted saw bartender pour--Lie! As opposed to simple sorry? In the business over 20 years, drinking scotch longer than that. Just won on a five roll. Felt like playing. So irritated, picked up my chips/cashed out, ended my weekend in bad way. Server VERY old. Where Union kills these places. She couldn't see well. Crabby. No doubt union seniority. Trapped=she would be my Server entire night. Craps is why I showed up. So perplexing. Flamingo shouldn't depress people because employee is bent on staying forever. None working on scene intervened. Spent/Flamingo Weekend $160 pool $180 dinners $25 coffee $tips4all."^^ . "0"^^ . .
